Introduction to the Mauritian Legal System course is designed to give participants’ a basic knowledge about the hybrid nature of the Mauritian system. At the end of the course, the participants will be able to demonstrate comprehensive and coherent knowledge, understanding and application of underlying legal concepts and principles.

Hon. S.N.Ganoo- Arékion
​
Magistrate Intermediate Court of Mauritius,
graduated with a Law Degree & Masters in Law (UK)
​
She completed her Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law (UK). Holder of a Diploma in Banking and Finance (Uk); Certification in Diplomacy and Trade; Child Psychology Certificate.
​
Hon Ganoo-Arekion was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius in 2004 and started her career as a barrister at the Glover Chambers. In 2006 she was appointed State Counsel at the Attorney General's Office. She was thereafter promoted to Senior State Counsel and subsequently joined the bench in 2011.
Hon Ganoo-Arekion served as a Senior District Magistrate both in Mauritius and Rodrigues. In 2017 she was promoted Magistrate at the Intermediate Court.
She has also been part time lecturer at the University of Technology Mauritius and at Vatel Mauritius - Hotel & Tourism Business School.
